Composers and Resources

FRoyer_20131005_GB_7786During the course of the year, Behind the Lines provided a series of interactive workshops and creative projects that explored the life and music of composers who were living and working during the First World War or were influenced by the conflict. The main composers featured were Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst, Arthur Bliss, Ivor Gurney and Maurice Ravel.

Westminster Music Library created detailed resource packs on each of the featured composers, including information on their life and works, and their experience of World War One.
